The Government has directed (Circular 20/2019) that all contracting authorities should include green (sustainable) criteria into tender competitions and that green issues should be incorporated into Corporate Procurement Plans.
While GPP is well-developed at EU level, few contracting authorities in Ireland are fully familiar with the prevailing EU and national guidelines.
GPP covers complete lifecycle procurement of the following goods and services: transport, energy, construction materials, food and catering, cleaning, textiles, uniforms, ICT equipment and paper.
